About the Book
This book is a poetic journey over the hills and valleys of Buddhism. Along the path, I gathered these insights from the tree of my subjective experience, watered by the teachings of the masters. What you hold are the fruits that ripened through meditation, contemplation, and my humble attempts to apply Buddhist wisdom in daily life.
Throughout this journey, I walked in the footsteps of the great teachers, namely, Gautama Buddha, Padmasambhava, Lao Tzu, Bodhidharma, Tilopa, Longchenpa, and Thich Nhat Hanh. Each master offered a different flower, and together they formed the bouquet from which these poems emerged.
The insights gathered along the way are distilled into three symbolic “seed bags”. These are The Four Noble Truths, The Eightfold Path and A modern retelling of the Ten Ox-Herding Pictures, the classic Zen parable of seeking, glimpsing, finding, and finally resting in one’s true nature.
The poems are seedlike in nature. Small but containing a whole tree of meaning. If you plant them in your heart, maybe, just maybe, a Buddha tree might grow.
