Golden Lotus

This book is a collection of alchemical poems following the formula nigredo, albedo and rubedo. The intention was to poetically highlight the stages of psychological transformation using alchemical methodology. The poems were composed during the Covid 19 pandemic in Trinidad & Tobago. I hope Nietzsche is right and out of chaos comes dancing stars.

Personally speaking the magnum opus or great work is not a goal, but a process that provides insight into the dialectical nature of consciousness. As a snake sheds its skin to sustain life, consciousness goes through a sort of circumambulating transformation that maintains overall homeostasis. This is not a new phenomenon. Look at the stages of life, the earth's seasons, the oceans and the forests. There we see an intelligent rhythm embodying complementary opposing forces working together to maintain harmony. If this extraordinary phenomenon is the backbone of life on Earth, is it farfetched to believe that this could be part of the human story too?
